The aim of this project is developing new sonorities for compositions with Andean music influences, specifically from the Feast of La Tirana in northern Chile. The term kirki means action of singing and dancing in Aymara language, the main inhabitant tribe in the zone of La Tirana.

We started our rehearsals in 2013 with the idea of deconstructing the music of these religious celebrations using tenor saxophone, electronics and field recordings. We recorded six tracks in Trevor Jones Recording Studio, University of York and then we have performed in venues and festivals in Yorkshire. Our performances can include audiovisual material from the field research in the Feast of La Tirana 2012.

Our plan for 2014 is to continue presenting the material in other venues, festivals and conferences in UK and Europe. You can find some of our music in this website and also in the sound cloud site:

Have a listen and contact us if you want to having us for your next event.
